XPEL Paint Protection Film

Industry Standard · 10-Year Warranty

XPEL is the most recognized PPF brand in North America and the OEM-approved choice for Tesla, Porsche, Ford GT and Ferrari programs. The Tucson PPF Guide

Everything to know about paint protection film in Tucson.

Why PPF is essential for Tucson drivers

Drive I-10 between Tucson, Marana and Vail and you're getting sandblasted by gravel kicked up at 75+ mph. Drive up Mt. Lemmon or out to Saguaro National Park and you're picking up rock chips from washes that crossed the road overnight. Drive a Tesla or any modern car with soft factory clear and even normal commuting takes a toll. Paint protection film in Tucson — premium urethane installed by certified XPEL and STEK installers — is the only thing that physically stops rock chips, bug etching and minor scratches from reaching the paint.

XPEL vs STEK — what we install and why

We're a certified XPEL and STEK installer. XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS is the most common OEM-approved film for Tesla, Porsche and Ferrari programs, with a self-healing top coat that erases swirls under sun or warm water. STEK is the enthusiast and exotic favorite — slightly thicker, ultra-gloss "wet look" finish, and a full lineup of matte (Dynomatt) and tinted (Dynoshield) variants. Both carry a real 10-year manufacturer warranty against yellowing, cracking and peeling.

Choosing the right PPF package

Our Partial Front ($850+) wraps front bumper, partial hood, partial fenders and mirror caps — the most common chip zones. Full Front ($1,950+) extends to full hood, full fenders, full bumper, mirrors and headlights — the standard recommendation for new vehicles and Teslas. The Track Package ($2,150+) adds rocker panels, A-pillars and the high-impact section behind each rear wheel. Full Vehicle PPF ($6,000+) wraps every painted panel.

PPF on Teslas — the most common car we wrap

Tesla factory clear coat is notoriously soft. Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X and Cybertruck are some of our most-wrapped vehicles — computer-cut DAP patterns sized exactly to the panel, no hand-cutting on paint. The default Tesla setup is Full Front PPF + ceramic coating over the entire vehicle. See our Tesla detailing page for model-specific breakdowns.

How long PPF lasts in Arizona

Quality PPF carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty against discoloration, peeling and cracking — and in real-world Tucson conditions we typically see 8–10 years of life when the film is washed regularly. Layering a ceramic coating over PPF extends that lifespan and keeps it looking new. PPF also removes cleanly within the warranty window without damaging the original paint underneath.

Where we install

Every PPF install happens in our Tucson studio — wrapping film in open air anywhere in Pima County is a recipe for dust contamination. We serve clients from Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana, Catalina Foothills, Vail and Sahuarita. Partial fronts install in 1 day; full fronts in 1–2 days; full vehicle wraps take 3–5 days.

FAQ

Paint Protection Film questions

Quick answers from our Tucson & Oro Valley clients — tap any question to expand.

Will PPF turn yellow over time?

+

Modern premium PPF films are non-yellowing and warrantied against discoloration for 10 years. Today's films do not yellow like older generations.

Is PPF or ceramic coating better?

+

They solve different problems. PPF is physical impact protection (rocks, chips, scratches). Ceramic is chemical and UV protection plus gloss. The ideal setup is PPF on the high-impact front clip with ceramic coating over everything.

How long does PPF installation take in Tucson?

+

Partial front kits install in 1 day. Full front in 1–2 days. Full vehicle PPF takes 3–5 days because every panel is removed, prepped, wrapped and tucked properly.

How much does PPF cost in Tucson?

+

A partial front kit (bumper, partial hood, mirrors) starts around $850. Full front clip runs $1,950–$2,500. Track package is roughly $2,150–$3,000. Full vehicle PPF starts at $6,000 and scales with vehicle size and paint condition. Every quote is in-person — pricing depends on body lines, paint thickness, and which film tier you choose.

Do you install XPEL or STEK on Teslas?

+

Both — and Teslas are one of the most common vehicles we wrap. Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X and Cybertruck all get computer-cut DAP patterns sized exactly to the panel. We recommend Full Front PPF plus ceramic over the entire vehicle on most Teslas because the factory clear coat is notoriously soft.

Can PPF be removed without damaging paint?

+

Yes. Quality PPF (XPEL, STEK) removes cleanly within the 10-year warranty window, leaving the original paint underneath in the same condition it went on. Cheap eBay film and DIY installs are the only films we see leave glue residue or pull clear coat.

Will PPF protect against monsoon hail in Tucson?

+

PPF is shock-absorbing urethane, so it'll dampen and protect against pea-sized hail and most light impact. Severe golf-ball hail can still leave dings, but you'll typically avoid paint cracking and chips — the film takes the hit instead of the clear coat.

Do you do PPF on rocker panels and behind rear wheels?

+

Yes — that's our Track Package. Rocker panels (side skirts) and the section behind each rear wheel are where road debris kicks up the most paint damage. Highly recommended for lowered cars, Teslas, and anyone who drives I-10 or the Mt. Lemmon highway regularly.

Can I get PPF in matte or satin finish?

+

Yes — both XPEL Stealth and STEK Dynomatt are matte/satin films that change gloss factory paint into a satin finish while protecting it. Popular on dark colors and German sport sedans. We can also do mixed installs: matte hood with gloss elsewhere.
